María Natividad Cruz is a farmer and rancher who is getting a lot of use out of her land. Thanks to the Environmental Forestry project and PINPEP, she received support in the development of plans for protection and reforestation. With this she generated forestry incentives, being able to improve her home, her land and contribute to the sustenance of her family.
My name is María Natividad Cruz, I am 47 years old, I have a daughter and I am a farmer and rancher. I own a forest area of 3.53 hectares, land that was not previously provided with any type of protection or management, but thanks to FUNDAP, with the support of the Environmental Forestry project, I received the necessary support.
Thus, they helped me in the preparation of my forest management plans for Protection and Reforestation, as well as forest technical assistance to enter the PINPEP forest incentive program, aimed at protection against forest fires and pests.
Currently I have already certified my first incentive payment, when before I had not obtained any economic benefit. Another benefit obtained has been the livestock technical assistance in feeding during the summer season, guaranteeing the obtaining of by-products that help me generate economic income through their sales.
With the forestry incentives I will invest in the remodeling of my house, as well as improving the piped water system and rainwater storage for domestic use. Everything has been very beneficial because it has contributed to the sustenance of my family and to improve my quality of life and that of my family.
